- One symbol i found in the book is the barbed wire fence that seperates Bruno from his friend Shmuel.I think the barbed wire is a symbol that shows the seperation between the two sides of the plot the Jews and the Germans and also shows the only place Bruno has a friend.
- Another Symbol i found is Bruno's fathers office because it symbolizes his fathers work and shows that behind those doors his father does work that he doesn't know about and that his father keeps a secret from him.
- Another symbol in the book is the gas chamber where Bruno and Shmuel die. The gas chamber symbolizes death and that in the gas chamber there is bad things being done and people are being killed in the gas chamber.
- Another symbol in the book is Bruno's old house back in berlin. This symbol means alot to Bruno because Bruno grew up their and made his friends their. Also had more fun with everthing he did. Bruno also made alot of memories that he recalls later on the book and that he misses it.
- Another symbol in the book is the striped pajama uniforms that the Jews wear. This is a symbol in the book because it shows that what seperated the Jews from the Germans. Were the uniforms that the Jews wore. Bruno also knows that they are his fathers workers and he can't interact with them. But Bruno doesn't know the truth about the workers in striped pajamas and why they are wearing them.
