Robert c. O'brien was an American author, best known for writing fiction books, Two in perticular: "Z is for Zachariah" and "mrs.Frisby and the rats of nimh." He was born in Brooklyn, New York, January 11, 1918, and died March 5, 1973 in Washington, district of Columbia.(due to a heart attack) He studied at the Juilliard school of music and he took extension courses at the Columbia university, and he Graduated from the university of Rochester with a B.A. in English, 1940.

The story of the book takes place in a farm and centers around Mrs.frisby, a widow field mouse with four children, her youngest son, timothy falls sick with pneumonia and can't move out of the house until he recovers, but the farmer wants to plow the field they live in before his recovery, to save him, Mrs.Frisby turns to the rats for help, who may have a solution, and a secret that can change her life forever.
